It happens. I had designs i thought were totally Original and then i looked at a board of a different brand..ehh... oops..

it also depends on the kind of style you working in. nowadays abstract is more fashionable and you see many designs very close to eachother. Some brands go for totally clean looks which can be nice or boring as hell.

These do look alot like eachother on first glance but i'm sure they are different upclose.

You're right. some times you see a design and then your subconscious causes you to copy it without even noticing.

But you have to agree that the Cab is just way to similar to the Xenon. this is a small industry and there were probably at least 5 people at Cabrinha who approved the graphics. It's hard to believe that not even one of them noticed the similarity.

yeah they look very simular. But Xenon is not a big brand where i live when 1 person at all my goto spots has one... So maybe they havent seen the board.

I'm looking at the website of cabrinha. And they sure have a cleaner style now but not near as empty as xenon.
The skillit has the same red rectangle aswell even with the Xs in it. But has more graphics aswell.
I think the board in the picture is the subwoofer when you see both sides the board definitly has a different vibe. Also the edges are like ripped paper/splatters.

I totally agree the idea is basicly the same as the xenon. But since there is more on the board as a whole the board has a really different look.

In the end a designer gets influenced by what he likes. And chances are good you gonna make something simular.

for those not aware , probably not the case here -too expensive, but the big surf companies actually pay the same company to tell them what will be hot in graphics/ fashion eg 2014 - costs a fortune but most of the big companies do it - how else do you think they all come up with similar graphics /fashion ideas each year - it is the fashion industry, and it keeps things moving.

Thee Xenon Boards in the pic has been out a full year before the Cab board + Xenon boards have the same clean style for 3 years now.

"Imitation is the best form of flattery" or something like that. Anyway if cabrinha made a board that rides like a Xenond I'd probably buy it.
