Really good video thanks! I tried to make a beginner howto website at kitehydrofoil.com, but I think your instruction videos will be much better for someone starting out. Do you mind if I link your videos onto the website?

What camera and line mount are you using? The camera angle is perfect and the image very nice and still, and the lines are not too much in the view. Very nice.

Please go on!

That's a simple stick connected to the GoPro kite line mount. The stick stabilises the mount.
2 center lines go through the GoPro mount and the steering lines passes through an eyes at the end of stick. Nothing special - it has been used by others for 2-3 years.

Thanks for the video, it is quite timely. I was just going to start looking around to scavenge beginner tips. Does anyone have advice for water starting with the old aluminum foil boards? I suspect it may not stream horizontally as nicely as the new composite foils.

The aluminum foil is heavier than the carbon, I needed the front strap to prop it at an angle 30-60 degrees for water start. The plus side of the aluminum is that it is more rigid than the carbon on twists. So it is actually easier to learn on.

I'll do some searching for your gopro mount with a stick added. I have only seen the normal gopro line mount and the footage is not what I liked. Your footage is way better. Do you have any links to your kind of setup? Is it a mod you do yourself to the standard gopro line mount setup?

The commercially available line mounts are accidents waiting to happen. It is so easy to get tangled during self launch. A stick to keep all lines separate sound like a good idea.

Thanks for the tips Hawaiis. Question, what is the best technique to be able to body drag as close to the wind as possible with the original aluminum Rush Randle setup?
