Hey everyone, I'm on an exchange with the University of Cape Town for the next five months. To get me to the beaches and to check out the rest of this amazing country, I'm thinking about renting a car for a long period. Does anyone here know of a good and cheap (I know, difficult combination) place to rent a car for a long term? Don't need anything fancy, just something to get around

Hey Hessel
Hope You'll enjoy a Magic time in South Africa!
I saw an advertisment > Rent a Cheapy....older but still reliable cars
30 Marine Drive, Paarden Eiland Cape Town 7441
Tel No: [+27] 083 445 4671
Or - You should consider buying a 'Cheapy and sell it once You're done here'
Cheers
Marius

Thanks man, seems like a cheap place indeed. I considered buying one, but I wouldn't feel very comfortable parking it in the street as I don't have a driveway (living in Obs)

hi!
I rent from europcar the smallest and cheapest (at CPT airport) car and paid 200 euros for 8 days.it was supposed 15 daily rate but they took from credit card 200 instead of 120 (left car perfect and full of gas) .asked many time why but no answer.
Anyway had great time ,cant'wait for going again longer!
have a look at GUMTREE za cpt advertising maybe could be better buy one and resale later
ciao

Over the past 5 years or so I see more of our regular wind and kitesurfing tourists renting 80's Mercedes 123's - try these guys

We have no afiliation, just what I have observed.
