Guys, need your help. What "fun" formats of competition could be in kiteboarding? Need some ideas, to make it interesting for "weekend warriors" type of guys.

Race is definitely there — can be done by anyone. What else?

Jump length is doable. A line of equally spaced buoys running downwind from a jump line between two upwind buoys and you have to take off upwind of the two buoys.
You could make it compulsory to jump both directions and add the 2 longest jumps for each competitor.

Twintip figure 8 slalom round 2 buoys. You could use a handicap system to help get tight finishes if you were doing it regularly.

ronnie, do you have any examples of handicap rule in kitesurfing? Course race normally goes without handicap with simultaneous start. You are offering separated start with handicap to allow weaker riders start early? To make finish more exciting? Does it help to define most strong rider? I doubt...

you have also kitecross, very fun, and the riders don´t need to much experience, and also have some action.

it´s a race between to marks, and with an small jump in the middle to pass what the final meters..

relay races would be fun, you have to pass the baton and because it's teams you can make it a fair race by spreading out the good kiters.

No I don't.

If its a fun event, having the field spread apart during the race is less fun that them all getting closer at the finish.
Normally, the handicap is designed to try to give the better competitors a slight advantage.

The handicap defines the most strong rider.

We just put on an event where the height of the jump was measured using the Xensr device. It is the next generation shadowbox and is worn by the participant.

We had some of the biggest names in kiting competing along side weekend warriors. Everyone had an awesome time. In medium wind heights were 45 feet.
