perhaps a year to avoid ?

why do u say that?

I have used the 7m 2014 model and it flies great :)
Haha, because the 2013 says "Legendary" in several locations on the kite

ok so it was my idea of a little joke:)

More seriously , and slightly off topic, I have flown 2007's 2008's & 2009's and I have/do own 2010's 2011's and 2012's, but never flown 2103 let alone 2014's ..
My all time fave, is my 9m 2011 , perhaps 9m is where most kites start from so it is indeed the "cherry" size ........
Any size or year by year comparative thoughts from those who know would be most interesting to read. ???

i am by no means an expert . . . some ramblings will now follow.

Tried the 9m 2007 model Rebel once and did not like it . . . fast turning but not easy to feel where it was in the sky.

I owned for a short time . . . a 7m 2008 model Rebel that was very powerful for its size . . . it was a nice enough kite. The 7m vegas was very nice though heavy bar pressure.

missed the 2009 models altogether.

Owned a 7m 2010 model and instantly liked it the first time i tried it. Nice bar pressure and easy to know where the kite was in the window by the feedback from the bar. Bought a 5m which was also amazing and have the 6m which is also great.

Replaced the 7m with a 2011 model which has been a sweet kite. Well constructed with a new pump up valve that self stoppers. Not as punchy as the 2010 model. Have a 9m 2012 model which is nice, perhaps has less bar pressure than 2011 model even on the heavier setting but it flies great. Tried the 2012 model 7m and it was ok but was not impressed enough to change. The 2012 model 12m is a nice kite with great wind range but i prefer more bar pressure and smaller kites. Upgraded to a 2012 model 5m also.

Tried a 10m 2013 model which jumped great and flew well though seemed to lag a tiny bit in the steering and again i think i remember thinking that a bit more bar pressure would be good. A friend upgraded from 2012 model 12m to 2013 model 12m and was initially disappointed. Became happier as he used it more though said the 2012 model was a better all round type kite. Unfortunately did not get to try the 2013 7m to make a comparison.

Now have a 2014 model 7m that is a very nice upgrade from my 2011 model. Will be able to post some pics and comments on it in the near future. Will possibly look at upgrading the 9m also.

Am keen to try the new Dice in about the 8m size for playing in some swell/waves.

I am a fan of the Rebels though have liked the vegas kites in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 models. Relaunch has been slowly improved with the 2013 (quite a change in design) probably the best for this and for wake style (according to some).
