But you will be happy with either choice!
Don't agree at all here... Evo is a pretty slow turner, especially in the larger sizes considered here...
It's also too heavy, and a bad drifter thus...
If you want a North in the big sizes, that is fun for jumping and waves, take the vegas (in light winds, it's acceptable to have a smaller depower, but it is more maneuvrable, and you can generate power if you need...)
But then, for serious wave conditions, I'd think hard about using a 5 line kite at all
My prediction...the dice will make the evo redundant as well
Fun in the waves is a good description like a lot of these all rounders.
This is very different to a kite that's drifts like a demon and as good as any specific wave kite I have ever used and better than most. Its not fun, its downright amazing.
That's the dice, no comprimise in the waves and she jumps, don't ask me how they did it.

After reading the thread I'm a little surprise at no mention of the BWS Noise. A number of great kites mentioned and the Noise is a kite that will fulfil both roles.

Have a look here,
A no bullshit kite for a no bullshit price..
http://switchkites.com/products/kites/element2.html
Their method is not bad either, and for the price....they are well manufacture, up to a standard that many others do not achieve...have been flying ozones....well Switch has a better and more stable finish than my old ozones...
Good luck with your choice!!
Dude

Yeh its so good the new one has been totally redesigned as a fly and follow wave kite.
Real nice by the warm the new BWS is a serious wave kite contender, was on one only the other day. To jump, forget it. To perform freestyle, forget it.
They construction and bar have really stepped up, superb.

Is the new BWS kite a redesign? I got the feeling it was more of a tweaking.
I have the 2011/2012 Noise kites. Sadly, I've yet to get into significant surf with them, as their drift/surf capability is why I got them. Seem to work well in side-on wind waves though....never backstall.
As for jumping, they've provided plenty of hang time for me ... however, as a 2nd year kiter, I am still low level intermediate at best....not really wanting to boost more than 10-15 feet, and not attempting (or really interested in) the unhooked handle pass freestyle type stuff. I have only used a few other kite brand/models, so don't have a lot of experience to compare against....but have found these very easy and fun to fly in flat water and small windswell.
There's the kook report on BWS Noise.

Nope not a tweak, very very different.
Trust me I just got on one! One if the BWS owners or something like that lives close by. Got on his 8m only last Sunday.
There is a local guy as well who rips on his BWS, jumps wave rides on a laluz TT. Always riding with him, so I agree the older BWS can jump. So the kook report is spot on.
But the new one is a bloody nice wave kite, hence the jumping is diminished.
Don't ask me how they have done it on the dice.

I have ozone Reo. It is a dedicated wave kite, but jumps super nice when slightly overpowered.

Depends on what you compare it you mate. I'd say that's a load of crap actually but each person has their own definitions of jump ability. If you use mine I'd say BS to what you just said and would also say newbies are reading this and your advice could be very misleading. This is NOT part of the REO design profile. See what the 2014 does though.
