The 2013 KiteOceanics will be a part of the International Kiteboarding Association’s (IKA) annual course racing calendar, held under the auspices of both the IKA and International Sailing Federation (ISAF).

The event will start on the 10th and run through until the 15th of December, beginning with qualifying heats and culminating in a winner takes all race, for a prize pool of $30,000. Leighton Beach is located about 10km south of Perth, overlooking the Indian Ocean where the courses will be laid out for competitors.

Results from this event will go towards a 12 month rolling world ranking calendar in the IKA World Course Racing Championship. The Fremantle Doctor will deliver exciting conditions for one of the world’s fastest sailing classes.

The Lighthouse To Leighton race, now in its third year and will take place on Saturday December 14th during the Kiteracing Oceanic Championships. #L2L is a 19km race from Rottnest Island to Leighton Beach, the longest kiterace in Australia.
