Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.

During the MINI Kitesurf Tour Europe at the Kitesurf Cup Sylt, the Riders signed a T-Shirt from the Sea Shepherd Germany. They will give away this Shirt in the next few weeks to the highest offer they will get - we will keep you updated about that auction.

We are also happy to announce that the Sea Shepherds will attend our next two events in the Netherlands and in Spain. If you want to get to know about the missions from the Sea Shepherd come and visit them in the Netherlands at Scheveningen from 26th-29th September or in Spain in Castelldefels from 10th-13th October.

Why would anyone want those eco-terorrists in their proximity?

"Eco terrorists"? Hmmmm... So if you put your life on the line to protect whales you are a terrorist, but if you slaughter whales and kill every fish in sight using a drift net, then you are just a wonderful human being? When pretty much every environmental group out there has sold their soul and now just try to get you to buy a different lightbulb or car, the Sea Shepard Society has been willing to risk their lives to stop the madness. They rock and I would be proud to be in their company.

Everyone knows the Japanese 'research' for whaling is BS. International law is unfortunately wimpy. They are acting at least.

I read the AUS and NZ governments did take the Japanese to International Court on illegal whaling charges recently...but that will be a long process.

Anyway you look at it, watching a bunch of hippies trying to run an organized 'campaign' makes some great TV (but I do wish them success).

What I heard was . . . what they're doing is perfectly legal, cos they got (read, bought) the votes to do it.

I'd support Sea Sheppard if they weren't such pussies. Want to stop whaling? Sink the boats - limpit mines can't be that hard to get hold of. Ask the French . . .
