British Kite Sports and KB4girls run female only fun competition

LONDON, August 19: The 4th annual KB4girls Global event in Lancing on the South Coast of Great Britain took place this past weekend. The 25 open spaces were filled with girls and women from around the UK as well as nearby countries Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany who came together for a weekend full of fun on and off the water.

The ladies were received with strong wind and sunshine and took full advantage of the great conditions with a lot of on the water coaching. Divided into 3 learning groups the participating kite girls worked with their instructors Andrina Kelly, Jo Malyon and Tessy Beckene as well as KB4girls founder and 9x World Champion Kristin Boese who was rotating between groups. The motivation and persistence of the participants seemed simply inexhaustible and skill levels sky rocketed throughout the action packed weekend.

On Sunday afternoon it was time for the participants to show of their newly acquired skills in a KB4girls fun competition held in cooperation with British Kite Sports, the UKs national kite association, for the 3rd year running. The contest was held with three different learning categories judging and cheering for each other and once again created an amazing vibe. Many of the participants impressed themselves as well as their coaches by pulling off and even landing tricks they had never even tried before and big satisfied smiles could be seen in the girls' faces.

KB4girls founder and President Kristin Boese stated: "At first the girls are nervous and even unsure about competing and it takes a little bit to convince them. But it simply is amazing to witness how empowered and stoked everyone feels once they have overcome that challenge and have pushed themselves to try tricks they would have never even dreamed of before. I really can not thank our local ambassadors Andrina Kelly and Jo Mallyon as well as Pete Shaw from British Kite Sports enough for making yet another great event happen."

Participant Sophie Payne about the event: "I just want to say a massive thanks to everyone. The Event was great fun and I'm so happy I was able to participate. I have met so many fantastic girls and we have all pushed each other a lot. I am already looking forward to next years event."
