I really hope North introduces a 2014 North Fuse. I've had the 2010 North Rebel in a 12 and a 9. Never really liked them. They just pull and drag you. They are nice boosting kite but throw you down wind especially when you are powered up. I may move to an Edge but hoping North introduces the Fuse 2014.

Any other good fast turning boosting kites?

I heard north will change the Evo a lot, to be closer to the Fuse.

I think Rebels go upwind very, very well.
But to answer your question: North Vegas, Blade Trigger 2010-2012, Epic Screamer 3G & 4G, RRD Obsession 2010-2013, Liquid Force NRG, Nobile 50Fifty 2012-2013, SS Rally 2012-2013, and I'm sure there are others I have not mentioned.

Hi mate,

Unfortunately the Fuse wont be continued in 2014.
I will buy myself a few more Fuses to have sufficient supply for some time to come.

rumours are that the evo 2014 will be redesigned a lot, and look a lot like the fuse

The Fuse is designed to be as close to the Rebel as possible, but without the need for a 5th line. If you don't like Rebels, then why do you want a Fuse? Try some other kites out and see what you like.

I agree with Oldnb, Rebels are typically good upwind. Could be many other factors involved in why you get pulled downwind.

To me the FUSE is much different than the REBEL. I tried both. It's all about the Bridle vs the single line attachment. It makes a HUGE difference, it's a different feel, virtually, a whole new ride.

The FUSE doesn't drag and pull you, it has bridles, not single line attachments to the kite.

Interesting. makes more sense, then, that they've decided to discontinue the Fuse. possibly consolidating to one 4 liner that's somewhere in the middle of the 2 current offerings. I love the Fuse, but I don't think they've had great sales with it. All of my serial numbers are under 300, and I haven't been running out to be the first in line to buy. If you're selling less than 300-400 kites of each size, that's not a lot of kites. I'm thinking that would be a nice kite if they could blend the best of both models, though there's always trade-offs. It would make sense to have the model be more Fuse-like in the bigger sizes and slowly moving to be more Evo-like in the smaller sizes.

From a business point of view it is understandable why they pulled the plug on the fuse, it's about the numbers and the way the range is built up. From my (and others) point of view it's very sad because to me it was a great rare, underestimated allround kite with a great range, excellent jumping, stable kite with an excellent lineair feel on the bar. Rare to find..unfortunately. As a benchmark kite it would be great to keep, if they just could forget about the numbers...
