Hey everybody, just want to ask if anyone has a secret way to survive the crashes in boots. I am trying to ride in boots now and found that every crash is much stronger because the board is attached to your feet and works as an anchor.
So, what is the safest way to crash? keep the board out of the water and land on the body first?

Learn to let go. Simple as that.

whenever the board block in a failed landing i´m kind of ejected from the boots

i´m using lycra socks to help me going in as the boots are too tight, guess it may help the other way around. give it a try

or maybe i just got + foot flexibility than i though i had, a sign to stop kiting as i suck and try ballet

im new to boots but im with Joe, let go BEFORE entering the water and it doesnt hurst, no more than with straps. Relaunching in the "scorpion" position can be a pain in the ass i found hehe

Really? i learned bodydragging in my first hours of kitesurfing. Somehow i dont think its that problematic.

thinking it through means that learning and blowing a lot of tricks the body-dragging back to your board constantly gets average after a while, the downside to the boots is the scorpion and the butt walk.

personnaly don´t find the scorpion position that anoying in deep water, although i recognize it harms my breaststroke swimming style

butt walk not really necessary as worst case you could easily slide through small lenghts of sand with the board on

what i find fuc** irritating is when I end up with the kite down in the sand and being myself in knee to waist deep water. think about self lunch starting randomly placed in the wind window and without the ability to walk. that´s when i start screaming words better not heard by old people, ladies or kids

Word! I have only had a few crashes that come close to the cable.

If your coming out of your boots loose the socks. Just wet your boots before you get in them.
