If it dont work and you miss your flight home.. more vacation.. its a win/win!
(ps, might not work so well on your way to vacation..)
Yup, and your kite gear will arrive 2 or 3 days later with the next plane (depending where you are heading to) because it has to be transported by a staff member manually to the plane.
Been there, done that (not on purpose). So that advice is not so good in my opinion.

has enyone had problem bringing your harness in your carryon luggage? a lot of metal on the hook that might be a problem? my harness are heavy so i prefere to bring it inside the airplane since they almost never weight your hand luggage.
and at the check in counter, DON'T try to hold your hand or put your foot under the bag or any other trick to make it weight less. the check in staff know all the tricks on the book and you will just piss them off.

Fly with Qatar - that solves your issue.
Baggage allowance is 2 x 23 kg and sports equipment goes for free - additional 23 kg (from the USA).
From Europe you can have 30kg and additional sports equipment of 10kg.
Cheers

Dag88 wrote:Has anyone traveled with kite gear and board? Im heading to Thailand in Nov and have one of those Prolimit "GolfBags" but ive been reading bag limits and it says it has to be under 158cm (L+W+H) and im getting 213cm and the airline is saying it will be $150 extra if its over soooooo not real sure how people do it any suggestions?
Been using my mystic golf bag for the last 5 years and i never paid extra. Only problem was last year in cuba when they asked me where i was playing since there was no golf course on the site. I told them that i never said i was playing... i just like to drive a couple of balls behind the hotel. Gave them both 5 pesos and it was the end of it
Read the print carefully, i dont know what are the size limit for a golf bag... depends on the airline.

When using the "golf bag", stay within the weight limit - and be OLD, or look old, and wear a golf cap!!!!
