Need help with my ozone catalyst 2013

Hi.

Need help from other ozone riders to give me an honest oppinion on the 2013 catalyst.

I just got my 14 and 10m this week and tried the 10M well lit up. 12ms and weighing 90kg.

I have ridden for five years with mostly c4 and ss rpm kites.

The catalyst has gotten great reviews so I took a chanse without testing.

The real problem was that i really could not time in the jumping of this kite.

As mentioned I was well litt up going fast with the kite really low pulling it hard to 12 o`clock as I was pulling the bar when reachin top. I could not really feel the kite building tension just before it was at 12 o`clock: at 12 o`clock it got power but the I was off ass this was strange for me.
With the c4 and the rpms i could really feel the pressure in the kite and really get pulled of the water. With the catalyst the power came really late so i could not get any decent air.

So dissapointed. Unhooking was ok but iut was gusty so focused on getting air without any success.

I forgot to shorten the the steering lines as others have mentioned but I was well lit up so this really should not be the problem?

Please give me some input.

I will wait for some replies as I get ass raped when I say what I think about the 2013 cat on my local forum. I am trying the 2014 this Sunday, but that's not gonna help ya much. reports are there is a large improvement in all the aspects i found disconcerting, but i will see on sunday as i said.

will say this, I to was disappointed with the jumping of this kite, unless really lit. Also the shortening of the back lines does make a huge difference as it does with the zephyr.

Also you can't apply a full C technique for jumping this kite as it has pretend C wing tips...oops there I go again, here comes the ass raping....

Build speed and apparent wind first and don't yank it from low down like a C, somewhere in between a C and a high aspect kite like an edge. It does unhook okay though.

Hmmm.

Do you make another knot or use the one closest toi the bar?

If another knot how far from the last knot?

The knots are actually on the rear lines and the larks on the bar ends. So lark it on the closest knot to the kite on the rear lines ( making the rear lines the shortest) I have known crew to put another knot in, but never felt this necessary.

Its a decent kite but maybe I was expecting more or maybe closer to the truth it didn't really suite me. I know crew and some of them experienced just love the kite so take no notice of me really.

The dice is closer to what I want or suites me better, lets put it that way. Don't know just felt the cat didn't feel at all like an ozone kite with smooth power delivery. One of things addressed I think in the 2014 from all accounts. But hey the wing is fine and people love it.

I still rate the zephyr as the best wing I've flown (and still have it) and the edge the most perfect wing....
