Yeh my bro runs an ozone zephyr 2013, a dice 2014 11m and then a C4 8M 2011 over two Twin tips.

I run a zephyr 2013 and an 11 and 8m dice over two TT's, one of them light wind, a mako 150 and a SB...can stretch and match to find to right kite design for the right conditions.

Two kites won't cut it here but three is plenty.

The renegade is what I had before my Cabos, I'm going to stay polite on my experience with my Renegades and keep it to myself unless a certain event happens.

Ocean Rodeo, the 10 is a razor, the 7 a prodigy

Two kites only works for light to med weight riders with a decent small wave board who are willing to pass on anything under 12 knots.

You asked aboutt the low end of the Drifters. I have a lot of time on the Cabrinha SB and the Cabrinha Drifter. In my opinion, the 2014 Drifter is about a meter smaller in low end than the same size SB.

Otherwise, the Drifter has everything one would look for in a wave kite. Should be easy to get a ride in FL

That is the best advice. Mix your quiver up. I have been doing it for years and its great. Get the right tool for the conditions.

Each kite completely different from the next. But they work well in there chosen wind range. I sure has hell wouldn't want a flysurfer speed style kite in 6m weather and a reo in flysurfer weather would bore the tits of me.

I have a 9 and a 6 MethodV2 and I do exactly as Starsky describes. No need for different kite designs.

Are you saying this as a fact or is this just for you. I hope it is for the latter if not I suggest you ride some more kites and see what they can offer.

I ride a 10 m² Cloud, 9 m² North Neo 2012, 7 m² Neo (now exchanged by a 7 m² RRD Religion 7 MK4) and a 5 m² North Evo 2010.
Except for the Cloud, all these Kites are wonderful tools for waveriding, particularly the Religion.
I don´t feel the low end of the Neos / Religion is poor. Absolutely not. I typically ride 1-2 m² smaller sizes than the others (TT riders) around me with my Naish Skater 5'9".

Ask your friend to take your 9 and you can take his 7

If you are cranking on his 7 and he is struggling on your 9...then your 9 is the problem

But if you and your friend are doing equally well...or if he stills cranks and you struggle...
....it could mean your friend is more efficient at kiting than you..plus he may have a better board

By the way please describe his board and yours

Are you on surfboards....strapped....strapless....thruster...quad...width..length....etc...

Many times the board + someone more experienced makes more difference than the kite itself

Do you both weigh about the same ?
