PKRA News:
Lay-day at the Hainan International Kitesurf Festival
The first day of competition never got underway with the typhoon in the South China Sea still pushing out the trade winds. After the 10:30 skipper’s meeting the wind was close to zero and it was clear that the competition was not going to get underway. The riders enjoyed lunch at the beach and were released for the day. Some went for a bike ride to the volcano, others went shopping, and some enjoyed the pool and warm tropical weather. The conditions are forecasted to be light again on Sunday but by Monday we should have a solid breeze to get the competition underway.
