TT Class Racing ISAF Recognition?

KTA News:

TT Class Racing ISAF Recognition?

TT racing is something that we all know and love already out here is Asia is about to get the chance to gain full class recognition with ISAF next week at its AGM Conference in Oman next week .

The KTA (Kiteboard Tour Asia) has over the past year joined forces with the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association) to define the TT class rules and equipment parameters, which it with the help of a riders working group to ensure the class remains grassroots and the entry point for any kiteboarder into competition and racing.

The ISAF Conference in Oman will for kiteboarding of course still be dominated by the Olympic question, will be new medals from the IOC for 2020 or not? However, right now for the sport to continue to grow and develop the recognition TT racing is perhaps the more important item on the table.

As we have seen at national level and with the KTA continental Asia tour TT is a massive favorite for riders, both at the first time competitor end of scale and for those who have grown a little more serious about making the podium. It’s always good fun and maddest moments will always be part of TT, but importantly it is the opportunity to learn how to race without the added expense that the Formula board class requires.

If as we hope ISAF recognition is given then TT class racing will then gain IKA world rankings and be able to create official championship titles. So while everyone who has been involved is determined that TT remains the stepping stone, the ‘have a board and a kite and you can race’ type package, the additional recognition will it is hope expand the sport still further around the globe and add an additional competitive edge to things for those that enjoy that motivation.

this would be so great to have...giving so much more access to racing for lots of kiters.

Knowing the happiness from TT racers at KTA races, I hope it will be sanctioned soon.
Lots of people will start racing then, if they can just use their normal gear.

Good luck! :thumb:
