Beach Day for the PKRA Austria

The spectators on-hand were not dismayed at all by the lack of wind and thoroughly enjoyed the warm temps and the multitude of activities available surrounding the venue.
The beach lifestyle was the dominant theme throughout the event village offering beach volleyball courts, a skate park, play areas for the kids, and numerous lounges, bars and restaurants from which to relax, watch the action, and enjoy the day. With a sandy beach area and plenty of sun, many people were sunbathing, stand-up paddleboarding, and swimming in Lake Neusiedl.
After the announcement that riders were released for the day, the competitors were invited on stage and presented one by one to the thousands of onlookers and fans. Applause and big cheers for all welcomed the competitors, whose smiles reflected their anticipation of the coming days races.
A number of top PKRA freestyle riders are also present to here in Austria and will do an an exhibition between the slalom action. On hand are Alex Neto, Ariel Corniel, Mario Rodwand and the Austrians, Michael Schitzhofer, and Stefan Spiessberger.
Yesterday, two races were run and offered riders and spectators a taste of what is to come. In the following days, the PKRA Surf World Cup should see the return of strong winds. The forecast for tomorrow is favorable, with winds building to 20 knots from the northwesterly direction, and continuing through the remainder of the weekend. Riders will meet at 9:30 am with a first possible start at 10 am
