Guys! Don't rip up your old C kites. I am looking for 2003-2005 Cabrinha black tip kites, like the nitro or contra. These kites have a batten on the end, and different handling than any other modern kite, they have a higher top speed. I fly fuels right now, and while I like the other C kites fine, vegas, torch best, none of them are exactly like the old black tips. Don't rip up the fuels either, they aren't as special to me as the black tips, but I will ride them, as long as they are in good condition.
So yeah, I understand you don't want to sell them to the noobs, but don't throw them out if they are still in good condition. Figure out a way to sell them safely to strangers but don't rip them up, please.

I learnt in 2003 on the old North Toro, there was only about 20cm of travel on the bar, I think with more travel on the bar it would of made it a lot easier??
Saying that, If anyone asks me what kite to get, I would suggest a 2008 or later, as this was the start of the delta shape, Bandits, Evos etc.
so in answer to your questions
no,
no
no
why make it hard for yourself when decent 2nd hand kites are so cheap.

I learned by myself in 2000 . If you are smart and calculated its no freaking problem. I have a deep understanding of weather as a paraglider pilot and I think that kept me alive. Now that I'm kinda grown up with kids I wouldn't send a friend out to do what I did.

Yeah Yargas rocked, the 2004/2005 Yargas can still cut it against today's C kites

No, all around.
I must have over a dozen traditional C kites including a couple that were never used. They are taking up space while I wait for a good use to come to mind. I wouldn't sell or give them away to be used, certainly not to new kiters. They had their place in history, a real important one, still time and technology move on fortunately for us.

To re cap so far on 13 answers
Close Relative: No= 85% (11/13) Maybe= 15% (2/13)
Friend or distant Relative: No= 77% (10/13) Maybe= 23% (3/10)
Stranger: No= 77% (10/13 Maybe= 23% (3/10)
*** In the maybe some depends on location and size, ie if higher than 12m in steady conditions, or depend if its 4th line or 5th line. ***
Hightimes: You miss the airblast and old yarga, would give them to your mother/father, brother sister, friend or stranger to learn on? Or you will convince them to buy a cheap 2008+ kite instead?
JGTR: You say small C kite were fine for high wind, same questions as Hightime?
For the guys that answered: I would give them to my worse enemy and depend how much I dislike the relative, I included your answers in the No.
Thanks for your feedback all.
