Done. I'm a product designer but have worked in kids toys for the last 10years. If i was into kiting back then i probably would be designing kites now. Good luck!!

Done.

Is HIT affiliated with MIT ?
I met several kiters from Israel and then realized why so many inventions come out of that tiny country, who knows, maybe the next great improvement will come from this little survey.

and another survey the results of which nobody on kf never will see.

i don't participate in this circus. if you want answers make the results of the survey public afterwards!
we all know brands are spying one after another all the time. but if you want free information you should share. if you manage get more from this data than the other brands its their fault, but conditions for using free information must be equal for everyone.

beside, i don't like the idea of using volunteers information for the developing patents that may (and usually does) make the gear more expensive without actually making the production more expensive

Shall we allow anyone else other that ricki to see if there are patterns that could make for positive change...

nah lets hide under a rock, rely on one person lol No student projects... no new talent coming into the industry... rick can do it all!

These need adding in. Really hope the Aussie guy hold in there - terrible terrible accident as were the other ones. Its kinda shit seeing this stuff but it's from these kinds of things we can learn...

Australia - http://tinyurl.com/nxfloyg

Italy - http://tinyurl.com/k74wy9r

France - http://tinyurl.com/qgbfbqr

It would be nice if shared results in return of your survey. Maybe reassure people here you will publish results here as soon as you have them... then they may participate. This data needs more gaps filled in , in wind strength and user level. Pretty important before you can make conclusions about these areas.

I am sure this would help with your project.

Please make sure you credit "Open source database encouraging proactive solutions and education in kiteboarding" by the kiteboarding community if you use it. It is constantly improving - many have contributed so far.

The database has taken on many more suggestions and concern resolution attempts and come up with some positive changes.

1. Title of open source initiative/database is " Open source database encouraging proactive solutions and education in kiteboarding."

2. Also Includes list of kiteboarders that have saved many non kiting public from drowning at beaches while enjoying their sports - to help increase public respect/ good public perception of the sport.

3. MOST importantly "Potential mitigation measures " have been filled in for most data now. They can be discussed openly and incidents much more easily checked out out than starting from scratch each time with google.

4. Dont want this thread here at top each time there is an edit. Can you move it into the safety forum Toby? I appreciate it was very low quality when started - that is it's nature - still has some way to go..., but it seems to have got a lot better very quickly with the help of others input.

5. Sources should be most direct (ie first one - person saw it) first with tiny url links

Hey people,
First of all I am a real student and not a company troll...
I really want to make/ improve something in our great sport, and this kind of survey in this great forum is a priceless source of info for me.

Thanks you again all the good people who already replied, and for the good wishes, @Nick14, @Ben newman, HIT means Holon Institute of technology, Holon is a city near to Tel Aviv, We have no connection to MIT...

@eree, relax, I'm coming in peace, it's only for the best of us..
I will post the answers, but only after a good amount of answers will be filled, because I don't want to affect on the new comers, or turning your great creativity or Intuition down.

In the Israeli forum, on facebook, I've got 158 filled surveys in 3 days! But i wan't to make sure there are no big differences in the world..

@longwhitecloud- Thank you- big help- seriously! :remybussi:

Last, I've got now only 8 answers here, and most of them are from 34+ y old guys who surfs long time, i really need the fresh ones also, you are the main goal of my project..

Thank you again,
Idan

cool

some will help, a few grumpy old men here too tho that think they know everything and have stopped bothering to learn anything new..lol u might try kitesc00p, tell them you want opinions of younger riders not old dudes , they will either heckle you reaaaal bad and make your life a misery lol or maybe help u.. i would guess that they are very clued up indeed.

it will be real interesting 2 c how peoples perceptions ties in with real data. I for sure support students studying this kind of thing.
