Thanks for sharing your account and I am glad things worked out ok.

Here is something to think about, to date, no one has been killed kiting by lightening to my knowledge, not yet anyway worldwide. Hope they never are either.

Squalls or thunderstorms, the systems that bring lightening, or not, have killed many dozens and likely seriously injured far more worldwide. This has happened through gusts, lulls, onset of hypothermic conditions and/or wind direction changes Just because nothing bad has happened yet, doesn't mean things will stay that way for folks that kite in thunderstorms.
