I am thinking of getting hold of a 2013 small size kite for high winds (25-35 Knots).
I have nailed it down to Either:
Slingshot RPM
or
Naish Cult
Which kite do you thing is better for high and gusty winds.
I usually kite unhooked but for these high winds I don't intend any unhooking.
I hear that the RPM has a construction issue on the trailing edge when left to lay (flapping) on the beach. There will be a lot of flapping when the wind is this strong even if left only for 10 minutes.
Second question would be what size to go for: 6 or 7?
I weigh 68 Kg , which is around 150 lbs.
Would appreciate any inputs.
Thanks.
R.

Did you mean park or cult? The park is a fantastic high wind kite. I ride in a super gusty place and the park behaves really well.
I'd say for 30 knots a 6 would be great.

Amazing so much difference from TT to waveboards....
In 30 knots, a 5m2 would be more than adequate for 68kg.
In 35 knots, a 5m2 will be overpowered, and a 4m2 needed.
But for TT's you can hold a bit more without screwing your session up totally, like in waves

Hi,
don't know if can help. I'm a little bit lighter (62-64) and till a couple of weeks ago i had an ozone c4 5mt year 2010 and was using it with a 45cm bar and 20mt of lines.
It was my kite for really gusty SW New Zealand's days. I think it had a pretty good low end. I think with 25 knots i could ride it with a wakeboard with bindings and i never hit the high end. As example one day i was on bindings while some beginner were out with a 12. Not best session ever but i still could manage to go upwind.
Several times with strong and gusty wind i saw 80 kgs guys with 7s going out from the water cos was too gusty for them. Under nuclear gust i was just boosting but otherwise i could unhook and do kiteloops (hooked and unhooked). What i can say to you is that i never feel i was too overpowered.
Now i don't have it anymore as it exploded after an attempt of a too radical kiteloop
I'll miss it.
Ciao
