Kite-Lines from and for kitesurfers!

Postby Kite-Lines » Tue Dec 24, 2013 10:53 am

Kitebuddy's!

I'am a dutch kitsurfer and normally i am on a dutch forum, but I want to begin something with the tought: From an for kitesurfers.

I think the original lines are way too expensive and that's why I started with Kite-Lines. I am making a website to offer all kitesurfers the lines they want. So you can choose the strength, color, length and if you want the color stitch.

I have found a producer that directly selling me Dyneema SK75, pre-stretched and coated. So there are no shops/retailers in the 'selling chain'.

I have created a facebook page so I can show what I want to do and hopefully you guys think the same as I do. At 50 and 100 likes I will give away a set of Kite-Lines. I only want that the winner share his lines and review with the other likers/kiters.

Please help me to make this known among your kitebuddy's and through kite forum.

Hope we hit the 50 likes fast, so I can share my lines with you guys!

Thanks and Hangloose!

This sounds like a good idea, if the price is good...

Thanks,
I don't know the exact prices yet, but probably it will be arround the €75, ($100,-) with 360/500 kg lines.
When I know the exact prices I will post them on the facebook account.

For sleeving I want to use a sleeve/splice method, because the weakest point of the line is on the end of the sleeving. The sleeve/splice method makes it possible that the line go's smooth into the core of the line en that's better for the lifetime of the kite-line.

A sleeve/splice combination wich prevents the line to buckle at the end of the sleeve and makes it easier to walk your lines out.

Now, that is a GREAT idea... get rid of the "stress riser" and at the same time, form a TAPER to "funnel" the line through the line tangle.

I don't think that anyone has done this sort of innovation before.

Let me guess where you copied that idea from.... http://www.kitehigh.nl/forum/index.php?topic=45059.75

As the inventor of this method it just happens that I am also starting a company dedicated on making the best lines with sales starting early 2014.

That's right, it's just the best method :) However the more competition, the better for the customer. :thumb:

You might want to sell complete line sets - not just bundles of lines for 4-liners. Generate stocks of complete line setups. Construct a library with the various dimensions of all kite line sets (without the bars of course). I can sleeve and splice now...but the real value comes in having someone do the accurate measuring, cutting and assembly of complicated setups (cab, Fone, North, Gastra etc.). Also, melt wax and sell depower lines...this is where we get soaked...Best of luck.
