2014 north dice , inflate valve leaking

Postby FabsPH » Fri Dec 27, 2013 5:45 am

After riding my dice a few times now, I noticed that it felt odd after a while.... then I noticed that the inflate valve is leaking. Why? Just a slight touch to the blue inner valve and it farts out air.
Then I was thinking, why does the valve close counter clock and the outer cap closes clock wise?
It (inner)hits the outer ,thereby it opens = fkn leaks.
Anyone else find this a bit odd? RND ... nope..

Others have leaky Dice valves?
On other guys Rebel, he does not have the problem.
Yes, I try not to over tighten the cap.
And, if I ride without moving kite much and just mow the lawn, kite does not leak.

Been riding the dice since mid September, not had a problem. Actually prefer it now to the ozone boston valve.

My bro did have a leaking valve one time, put the old inflate tip on your pump and blow some air into the valve. That fixed his.

@Westozzy: ever compared how North assembles and stitches their kites ?
Compare how they mount their struts on to the canopy.
Compare how the close/stitch the leading edge tube.
Wonder why North requires battens in their wingtips while other brands don't.

Ah ha it see you are promoting switch kites on another post. Just got off the new nitro. (You see I guarantee I have ridden many may more kites than you) not interested in your bullshit about stitching I actually ride them.

Nitro, decent free ride kite, has come along way from the Nitro one and two (yes I have tried them also). Flies too much off the front lines, still needs some refinement in the canopy design if it relies on a bridal system to build a good synthesis between the front and back lines. Not quite there yet. But a good effort.

Westozzy : I don't promote Switch and I don't have any Switch kite.
I got kites from : Best for speed and jumping on TT, Takoon, RRD and Airush for wave on wave boards
(I prefer kites without screw valves because of sand issues)

Oh sorry stand corrected then. I'm sure I saw you mention switch a few times regarding price structure etc....all companies promote and market their kites. I agree the annoying vids etc gives me the shits and for experienced riders at times it's insulting. But hey I suppose you have to be in the plastic consumer marketing game nowadays.

For the record I have ridden the kites you have mentioned (not sure which best kite you are on), and they are quality kites as well....just as North is. It all comes down to individual feel.

Airush has an airush feel, North has a north feel, ozone has its own feel that run throughout their kite range.

To imply someone like myself and other very experienced riders have bought north kites because of marketing is insulting. That's my beef with you.

I own various North kites and have to say that they are well built and fly great. Not a fan of the batons on my Vegas (the only real complaint is when packing the kite away) but they are very well put together. I have had issues with Best kites in the past that the canopy material was suspect to be nice, but all being said they have come a long way and make well built kites as well. Why is it that some people feel compelled to attack brands and people that choose their kites? The guy is asking about an issue that he is having with his kite and gets insulted about being gullible! Enjoy what you ride and don't worry about what the other kids are playing with.

James
