They are different sizes so it is hard for me to say, but they feel very similar. I would say the 2013 feels like it sits a little deeper in the window and has heavier bar pressure, but it may just be because the 2013 is a 13m and 2012 is 9m. The 2013 bar has a nice thing in the middle for your fingers to prevent line burn when unhooked. Other than that I haven't spent enough time to make any more observations.

Not much difference really between them. They did add another attachment point for you steering lines. Slows the turn speed down a little bit. Works well on my 9m have not tried it on my 13. It's big enough that I rarely overfly the kite.

I read that there is a reduction in the overall size and low end power by increasing aspect back to the 2008 model making it more accessible for mainstream riders and less of a brute in strong winds.

What do you think about that

I completely disagree with that, I've read that the 13m has poor low end but I am powered going upwind on that thing in 12 knots. It has about the same low end as any 12m bow kite I've flown, which is pretty much right for a C kite. I've held it to about 20 knots only pulling trim at the bar (not adjusting the rear line pigtails at all) so it has some great wind range. I'm 65 kg.
