What is the of name clamp/tie that secures the tubing

Postby JMDPK » Sun Dec 29, 2013 6:49 am

What is the of name clamp/tie that secures the tubing that connects the hose coming of the leading edge to the hose that connects the struts.

Kind of like a self locking hose clamp - but for kites.

(kite in question - flexifoil atom -- but the same thing is used in all my other one pump kites)

It is hard to order it - when I am not exactly sure what is called - where do you guys get them from ??office world for example.

PS - I live in Australia

Cheers

Those straps were originally made for securing wires in bunches or long runs, hence the name "cable ties" and are usually found in the electrical section of a hardware store.

Also called "zap straps" and "zip ties" in North America. Try to get the black ones with UV protection for use on kites.

They make some low profile ones if the raised part wears or rubs on the kite when it's folded or rolled up(if that's an issue):
