People who ride torches usually don't tether launch. You are getting smartass answers because nobody knows if you can or not. I know if I tether launch my fuel it is unreliable. Torch might be ok, I don't know. You'll have to try it yourself and find out. In light wind I usually reverse launch my fuels, in strong winds I do a normal relaunch like you do in the water but keep the kite low so it don't knock me over.merl wrote:Nobody can give a straight answer to a simple question. I'm not familiar with recent C kites but I know the older ones don't tether launch so it is not obvious to me that a torch will behave well. Whatever.
Yes, you can tether launch a Torch.merl wrote:Can you tether launch a Naish Torch? What is the preferred self-launch method for this kite?
I don't like sand on the wingtip. modern C kites are too stiff for it.Peter_Frank wrote:The classic old "sand on the wingtip" is of course still an option that will work
