We are stoked to have Bryan Lake join the Ozone Team, fun loving, humble and very fast!
Congrats to Bryan winning all divisions Foil, Course Race and Slalom at the Los Barriles Lord of the Wind contest in Mexico riding the Edge. Good luck for the racing year ahead!
“I just returned from Los Barriles Lord of the Wind Contest in Mexico, hosted by the Los Barriles Rotary. This contest is where I got to make my debut in 2014 on the Ozone Edge Kite. I was able to win the Lord of the Wind title for a second year in a row! And also win the Course Racing and the Slalom events for the first time.
The Contest was a great time for all the competitors and all the proceeds were donated to the local children’s center. I honestly felt very fast and felt like kiteboarding has never been easier on my new kites. The turn speed of the kites made tacking and gybing easier and the upwind ability was amazing!
I am really looking forward to the rest of the season and can’t wait to be on the new Edge and Chrono’s launching soon, the Ozone performance advantage is unreal!
Incidentally, Bernie and all the first three finishers in the Lord of the Wind race were all on hydrofoils and were well ahead of the raceboards. Bernie rides Ozone kites and the Taora Sword foil with a custom board.
It also should be mentioned that Adam Withington (ASV kites, Spotz foil and Aguera board) also had some top results in this event but was disqualified by the race organizer with some controversy.
And Adam Koch (Aguera board and foil) won at least one heat in the big air competition using his hydrofoil!
