Sometimes the best ultra light wind kite doesn't get tested because there's not enough wind to test the others. And these can be great opportunities to learn something of value.

I know the XR3 17 is "not" in the test but i just weighed it at 4.50 kg / 9.90 lbs... ....looks like about the same as the Turbine 17 2014..and the Riot has "5 struts"....must be LW canopy material of Core XR3 19 5.03 kg / 11.08 lbs ( 5 struts )... ...a 19m2 kite is @12% larger in size than a 17. So 4.48 kg X 12% = 5.02 kg=11.04 lbs ...so weight seems close to proportional to Turbine and V3 ( that have 3 struts)...so i think Core's canopy is lighter weight Turbine 17 2014 4.48 kg / 9.87 lbs INF V3 "secret size and sauce" 4.39 kg / 9.67 lbs Contra 17 4.23 kg / 9.32 lbs Rodeo Flite 17 3.95 kg / 8.68 lbs

This years Turbine has 5 struts... 2 new mini struts near the wingtips. Can't wait to see the results of this test... I'm headind to buy a Turbine to complete my quiver of North Evo 7,9,12m. Thanks for this test... Sorry for my english ( french guy from canada)

Merci Bruler45 for pointing out the 2 additional small struts (for total of 5) on Turbine 17 2014

Nice quiver you will have............bonne chance et bon plaisir !!

I do go from a 12m2 to my LW kite 19m2 without any other sizes in between

I would almost bet that the Fat Lady G2 would weigh less due to the narrow leading edge and struts. Too bad you could not find a demo for your test because that's the most "fun" big kite I've ever flown and would be interested to see how it compares to the latest models.
I definitely agree about the fun part... but in terms of lowend, it just doesn't play in the same league as the others...
I agree. The Turbine I demo'd had better low end. However, not everyone buys a light wind kite based purely on its lowend.

We had one of the best conditions for a light wind test today. 5 riders, winds 9-11mph.

We will have a video from the riders and what they thought about the kites, and we will have a more comprehensive written review that we will put out at the same time. I have to admit I was a little surprised by the results. Stay tuned.

Too bad I am in the factory in China as we speak working on some new prototype kites including the INFINITY V4. So because of the Chinese restrictions you can't watch any Youtube or Vimeo videos here until I get back to Honk Kong or the USA or Europe.

P.S. One of these pictures bellow is Momi and I at the hotel room waiting to see the video while on our break from the factory.

Ozone Edge 19m is 3.75 kg
This is by far the best lightwind tube kite I ever seen or used
to not have it in a light wind test is just silly
