Hello,
Just got my new quiver of 8-10-12m Best TS 2014 v3 and the 10m kite seems to have some issues .

It keep pulling to the right and is very slow turning to the left.
Doublechecked that all bridles and barlines are the same lenght, wich they are.
Measured distance from trailing to leading edge and found that the one side is about 1cm longer than the orher.(Left side has a bit more canopy, but very litle)
Allso tries different bar with same result.

Aso the little black ring inside the twistlockvalve dissapeared after about about 3 sessions on the 8m, so now the kite is slowly leaking.

Anyone else have the same experience?

The retaining rings for the valve were a manufacturing defect on the early batch of kites, you should be able to get a set of them from your dealer.

Thanks for the reply on the rings.
Anyone got any tips on the missbehaving kite?
I belive its possible tha the LE bladder is a bit twisted inside but dont want to void any warranty.

Take them back to where you bought them a 'Tell' them to sought it out.... Its a warranty job.
RECORD all emails in case they 'dont' fix the problem or give you the run around. If so - post it all on here - then see how quickly you get a replacement kite :)
Demand customer service for your hard earned money !!!

i have seen 2 different kites from 2 different companies have this same problem when new. Measured all the bridle lines, attachment points and everything else we could think of. Nothing was off but the kite pulled to one side, on different bars and even reversing the bar. Even tried a different bladder from another kite.
Never did figure it out and returned them to the company for a replacement. and they never said what was wrong either. i know this is no help but it does happen, so i hope you get taken care of properly.
Also, remember this is just 2 kites in 10 years and lots of people, so it is not common at all, but it does indeed happen. If you figure out what the problem is, i'd really like to know.

If you depower the kite fully, so rearlines are slack - does it still pull "heavily" to one side then ?

If not, simply move the rearlines till it flies straight, with bar pulled - and see how it behaves then.

If it turns okay to both sides now, you should just make a pigtail a bit shorter, and everything is sorted out :thumb:

If it turns a lot to one side, even with slack rearlines, the kite is most likely defect beyond reasonable "fixability", and you have to send it back :(

You should be able to see if the front bladder is twisted a lot, if pumped up on a windless day, but if it is a onepump kite (like almost all are today), it can not be twisted so much that it will matter IMO, because the vents will hold it in place.
It was only on the old kites a twisted LE bladder could occur and make the kite "wrong"

Hello Peter,
Unfortunately you are not correct. Even one pump kites can suffer severely from twisted bladders. Just for fun, pump your kite pillow soft and twist the leading edge with both hands. You will be surprised how you can deform any kite. With little effort you can have one wing tip pointing out at 45 degree and the other pointing in by the same amount. This will cause your kite to pull to one side like crazy.
It is very difficult for any factory to produce a crooked kite. If one panel is off, nothing else will fit. Kites that do not fly straight almost always have a twisted bladder. Place your kite pumped hard on a flat surface and closely examine its shape. Is the leading edge evenly on the ground? Are the wing tips pointing in the same direction?
Good luck

Sounds like a twisted bladder but could be something else causing this.
If the shop where you bought the kite is nearby then ask them to fix it, if not and you have never took out a bladder before then there are short videos on YouTube that explain how to do it. it takes app. 30 min.

Good luck.

We've gone through about 30 2014 TSs at this point (demo kites, school kites, and sold kites) and we have not seen this issue on any of them.
As others have already mentioned here, it's either a twist in the LE or some sort of a defect in the kite. Defects like this are rare, but possible.
You can check if there is a twist in the LE by pumping up the kite and sitting it on flat ground in a non windy place. Try to balance the leading edge on 3 objects of equal height (paint cans for example) - one in the center and one on each tip. If there is a twist , it will be visible.
If this doesn't solve your problem, contact your dealer - they should be able to claim warranty on something like this.
