Freeride include waves? Chop or real good flat water? How far down the freestyle rabbit hole do you go?

Laluz, 135 by 41. 2013 if you want a little more comfort. 2014 for a stiffer ride but holds much more speed and load. Want some freestyle ability at an intermediate level in chop that's ya board.

Do some research on the Nobile NHP. An excellent product. The click and go fin, binding and handle is excellent when traveling. In our shop, the 134 x 42 is the best selling model.
I have rode the 2 Slingshot boards you have mentioned. The Crisis is their entry level board offering solid performance at a great price point. The Asylum is a more freestyle board with a good rocker line with a flat section to enhance the upwind performance. The Slingshot pads are very comfortable and have a large adjustment for boots or barefoot.
There are so many choices and impossible to ride all. I don't really go on and on about TT's, they IMO are all very similar except for a noted few(Ocean Rodeo Mako, Shinn Speedball etc). That said, the Nobile NHP ticks all the boxes. Speed, pop, upwind and smooth. Great light components. You will not regret buying that board.
