2014 vs 2013 Cabrinha Chaos

Postby LanBro » Thu Jan 30, 2014 2:49 pm

Can someone tell me if there is a substantial difference from 2013 to 2014?

I have read some very good reviews on the 2014? For example, no need to trip when you unhook, high lofty jumps when hooked in, kite stability during handle passes with just.enough slack.

If anyone has ridden both, please let me know if there is a big difference......obviously a 2013 is considerably cheaper.

I heard that there were some improvements made to the safety system-- e.g. how the kite flags when you release the safety. Haven't heard of any other differences other than the 2DR canopy material. Haven't ridden the 2014 yet though...

I ride the switchblades, but had a change a year ago to fly the 2013 9 chaos for a while....and again last week had a change to fly the 2014 9. I felt the 2014 turns faster and jumps better than 2013, but requires serious send. Relaunch felt better and low end a bit better. Perhaps it has something to do with the bridal change and lower v in the lines. My friends that only fly the chaos felt the 2014 an overall improvement on the 2013......this also definitely includes unhooked moves.

For me the sb jumps higher, loops nicer and turns faster. Given I use the 8 mostly and are comparing it to the 9 chaos. Can't comment on the unhooking, but speaking to another friend who had changed from the sb to chaos for unhooking, who felt it was easier to do unhooked moves with the chaos than the sb.

hi man.
i have the new chaos 2014 in 13 9 and 7...and i triet all yet...
After 2 month i can say something....
Yes is true!!! the chaos has a lot improvement this year...is more stable, more easier, more freeride...you can do also oldsyle...has much powe in low end..and is fantastic for unoked tricks.
You know esxactle everytime where the kite is. this kite jump very hight but differten from sb 2014.
With the sb you go orizzontal with the chaos you go vertical... then with the sb 2014 is not good for unooket tricks, because it's very puncy kite is not good for your arms(the sb 2013 was fantastic for unooked).
Sb= pure freeride kite very good low rnd and very good hangtime for oldschool
Chaos= freestyle wakestyle, stable, also for freeride, very easy, good lowend power(just 1 meter less than sb 2014)
Improvement vs Chaos 2013= +freeride, + power lowend+ turn+ you know always where kite is+ unooked+upwind.... :thumb:

I would say that this year chaos is better for freeride than chaos 2013...This is my poin of wiev.
In the 2013 was good for freestyle but techincal...this year is good the same but easier...
You are free to belive me or not...
See you

sorry, maybe i was a a bit too aggressive, but usually there is a trade off in this kind of things. It cannot be an easier kite and slack more to pass the bar. I would like to hear more opinions on the slack on this kite
