For the steering lines we moved the Blue line one knot down on bar end above the floater. For the Center lines we moved the line to the knot closest to the kite.

We were in a catch 22, we could have used another bar, but then the discussion would have been we didn't use the epic bar so its not a true test. So we decided to adjust it as much as we could and use the higher center line connection knot and the depower strap if needed.

If we wanted to release just a bad review, we could have included it in the initial light wind test. We decided to keep flying it and working with it to get the best total review possible.

We are glad some people are happy with the review, but we're well aware that some people were not going to like it and pick something to discredit it. This wasn't done to help us out, we really are doing this to help y'all out.

Dimitri is better than most as he will send you a kite to test, so take advantage of that opportunity if you want, and we really appreciate him sending us a kite to test out. Something he didn't have to do at all.

We just used a Wizmount. Its in the Truck which is out at the beach, but if you look at the backpack you can see how you can do a lot of different shots.

Hey Curt (I believe that is your name and if not than I apologize),

I am not looking to discredit you at all and I apologize if you feel that I am attacking you. That isn't my intent and I was just looking to add some constructive criticism to help make the reviews better. I have enjoyed what has come out so far and just seen what I thought was a misstep on the part about not adjusting the line lengths. It wouldn't have matter what kite was being tested as I would have mentioned the same thing. I am not affiliated with Epic at all and I just happen to like the kites that I have tried. I am also a big fan of north and ozone kites as well! I am looking forward to seeing what you have next (the cloud) so keep them coming :thumb:

Congrats on the detailed extensive review... not surprised..already knew all that 14 months ago

Roger 230 lbs with 14 years experience and Curt 145 lbs with 7 years also thanks for Nate's view

( With what has been said about the V3 ...D. believes that the viewers must be very confused )
( He even says he is confused also..the V3 files amazingly in 3 knots...7-12kn is ideal wind range )

Highlights :

Finger grooves in bar are nice feature
Nice to see a company think outside the box
Love the bag with bottom mesh...great design

Bit slower to turn than the Flite 17 and XR3 19...more like Turbine
At 10 kn can hold a line and go a bit upwind at 145 lbs on a 144x41 TT
Bar diameter tires arms...big guy and small guy
Strap and stuff a bit hard to reach at times...feels far maybe because of big chicken loop..small guy
In 8-10 Nate did not go upwind
Felt just right over 10-11kn

I am just typing what i heard in this video review by the way ....so it is not confusing to anyone
In writing it makes a more lasting impression

As LW kite would not recommend it
Better kites out there
Nobody liked the kite in lighter winds

Sorry D. but this is the conclusion from the Joe's
It is not the ultimate LW machine any more...if it ever was

It is what it is....now

KF is a great marketing / advertising tool but like a sword it can cut deep (in the window)

Hey guys!
I like your type of review. Just in case you want to get some input from other video reviewers, you might want to take a look at gleiten.tv. Its a german group who test kites, boards etc. The way they review is always in the same order, setup, bridles etc. then flying characteristics. Bars are separate videos, but check it out yourself (Rebel 2014 translated version). They are quiet popular over there :)

Dimitri,
Before the initial XLKites's review, they said they also sell the Infinity.
Later on they said they were just testing the Infinity in order to decide whether to sell it or not.
My understanding is that in order to sell something one needs to be an authorized dealer, so my question is:
Has XLKites ever asked you to become an Epic dealer?
PS Sorry if I insist on this point, but I think it's the single most important disclamer concerning a shop's review.
Hello lobodomar,
I am sorry but I can't answer your question in public but I did sent you a PM message about your question above.

Why?

Disclaimer: I'm one of the Joes, XLKites is my local shop, XLKites is ultra generous with time, equipment, advice and all things kiting even though I've spent more money buying gear over the internet than from XLKites.

Great job, good to see real world reviews.
Great job XL Kites!

Always going to have people that get but hurt.

Randy,

I hope I have not offended you. I do appreciate the fact that you took part on this review, and I believe you when you say you didn't like the kite and I think it's very much probable that it doesn't suit your riding style. But I also do think that when a shop reviews 5 kites and sells 4 of them, the one kite it doesn't sell will probably get a different treatment by the editor of the review. If it was also sold by the shop, maybe it would have been presented in a different way, as for example an intermediate/advanced kite that needs some dialing in order to go upwind but pays off freestyling and waveriding.

With all due respect, this piece of information is not what I would call a disclaimer. Any rider is a potential (future) client, and any shop is a potential discount giver. But what really matters is how the overall message is presented by the editor of the review, and that depends on his agenda.
