Hello TeabagVic.
You can't go wrong about Paros, Naxox or even Mykonos. The only thing I don't like about Naxos is that the wind is too gusty and the water is very choppy.
Now concerning the strength of the wind in July it is going to be hard to tell you but usually its around 18 to 35 knots. So you might have 10 days of strong wind and then 3 to 5 days of calm until the Meltemy returns. So if you plan to go to Paros in July my suggestion for gear will be:
8/12/14 meter. By having these 3 sizes, I am sure you won't miss a day of kitting.
I should be there also around July 15th if I don't go to Rhodos or Mykonos first with my 11 year old son Cameron.

Thanks again, almost garantee I go there now, either 4th/5th July - till 19th 20th July or 23rd July till ~ 8 August.
Dimitri is there any shop that rent screamer over there? (Screamer is the high jumper right?)
Would like to try high jumping kites from your brand one day, especially if overpower
Only reason why I dont own one yet is because I didnt have a chance to try it before hand due to chronic tendonitis. (Need low bar pressure kite)
1000 thanks for the info, more than likely Greece it will be. (or home, will decide last minute).
Thanks again, Ian

Dimitri, what is the best place for kiting on Rhodos from your point of view?
Dirk,
Rhodos is a big island and you have many places to kite on the west coast of the island but personally for me the best spot to kite will be at
PRASONISI which is at the south end of Rhodos. You can also kite in
Ialysos where my cousin has an hotel or
Kamiros,
Paradisi and all along the cost towards the south. These beaches are located on the North West side of the island but the water is too choppy and you have to be careful where you can and can't kite.
The good thing about
Prasonis is that you can kite in the waves and then in one jump go in the flats because both of these waters are separated by a sand bar. But the only problem is that you have tons of people kiting there. The reason I don't like the other spot around Rhodos is because the water is too choppy. So if you go to Rhodos, go directly to Prasonisi and get in touch with Asimi who owns the restaurant called "
The Light House" in Prasonisi and also owns few apartments for rent in Katavia which is 15 to 20 minutes drive to Prasonisi. Just let her know Dimitri sent you. Hopefully she won't make you pay my tab.

Hello
nick14.
Mykonos is always windier then Paros or Rhodos because its the first island that faces the north and gets all the Meltemies wind with out any island obstacles. So if there is no wind in Paros I always take a 45 minute ferry boat to Mykonos because you will find more wind there. For example if they are calling for North winds (15 to 20 knots) in Paros for sure it will be blowing (22 to 35 knots) in Mykonos, but again the beaches are not as friendly as Paros but the good thing is that not a lot of people kite in Mykonos. But the places to kite in Mykonos will be: "
MEGALI AMOS,
KORFOS,
FTELIA". If its blowing (25 to 35 knots) in
FTELIA you will have some big waves because
FTELIA is well know for wave riding. Also be careful with the windsurfers because they were here first. This was my spot when I use to windsurf. They also have a very nice restaurant on the side of the beach. On the other hand,
MEGALI AMOS and
KORFOS are good for flat-choppy waters. But again the best place to start kiting will be in
KORFOS because its easy access and you have a nice kite club there to help you out.
Also after you are done kiting make sure to go to SUPER PARADISE beach for some real Greek fun. This place starts partying at 4 pm and ends around 6 am.
P.S. These are some pictures of MYKONOS.
