It's really nice. A bit expensive during the summer, though.
Porto liscia/Porto Pollo up north is nice. But you should get a car/van, and you should drive around the island as there are spots pretty much anywhere.
There are just a few spots pinned here:

Hi,
If you wanna go north between porto pollo and la caletta (thermal winds) could be right the place.
I'd rather prefer the south west. Crazy thermals at la maddalena spiaggia (aka petrol beach) which is a ugly beach too
Otherwise Chia, Porto Botte with NW and if you like waves you can go to Capu Mannu.
Enjoy Sardinia and drink Mirto!

I have been past summer!
I stayed in San Teodoro...very beautiful !
I kited at La Cinta, amazing beautiful! Right in San Teodoro.
Get a car, not expensive, and drive around.
Wind is normally every day, but you have to go where the wind is, directions keep changing.
Find lots of info here:

If you want to stay in San Teodoro, contact me, I have a kitesurfing friend there who owns a hotel right at La Cinta!

Hi guys,
On the South-West coast of Sardinia you can find the best conditions for kitesurfing. Especially In the summer with the Mistral which is the dominant wind in Punta Trettu and Porto Botte and thanks to the thermal wind you can have 5/10kn more than the forecast says, super flat water and no swimmers. If you prefer waves (rare in the summer) you can kite in Funtanamare and Porto Pino. The South is also cheaper and less crowded than the North of the Island (for restaurants, accommodations, etc.).
Wishing good wind to everybody,
Dan

I really love kitesurfing in La Cinta, but as you said it works only with NE winds which in summertime do not blow as often as NW-W-SW winds (the same for La Caletta-Siniscola). That is why many people advise to go to Porto Pollo (frequent wind but gusty), or to the SouthWest: Porto Botte (best wind, but not the best beach around), Porto Pino (amazing beach, but you can kite only from september to May), Punta Trettu (very beatiful and perfect for beginners), Chia (amazing beach but there are waves), the so-called Petrol beach near Cagliari (not a beatiful beach, but it's the only spot that works with local thermal winds - i.e. when no general circulation winds are blowing).
For wave experts there are also plenty of spots along the West coast of Sardinia (google Capo Mannu "Capo del Capo" surf contest
https://www.google.it/search?q=%22capo+ ... d=0CCcQsAQ)
Personally, my favourite spots are in the Southwest, my advise is to rent a car wherever you go
