I tried the 60 one design with the quad fin. it wasnt back to back so I cant give a great comparison but if I recall it seemed as if there was more forceback with the quad fin to get it pointed upwind compared to the trifin design. I had no issue rocketing upwind on the tri fin in marginal wind conditions.yuko wrote:Shawn, thanks for updating!
Did you have a chance to try V2 60? If yes, how it would compare to the V5 60 ?
I've been riding 52v2 for few years and rode v2 60 for one season and did not really like it, could not carve and jybe it like I would the 52 anytime, so was wandering if the big v5 is more playfull but still kept its lightwind/upwind abilities like the old v2.
Go for it, at 72kg you'll have a blast. The 54 is light years ahead more fun and playful than the 60 or even the v2 52. Under 160 pounds it makes for a great lw board. Lately when there is no wind on lac st pierre where we ride. The only guys riding, 2 guys with foils, 2 or 3 guys with big lotus 21 and big door and me ith a v4 54 with my 11m xr4 core plus 6m extension. I weigh 148 pounds.Manuel V wrote:I'm thinking on purchase a V6 sector 54 as a low wind (12 to 14 knots) directional board ( I weight 72 Kg)
but this year board say it's 24.4 L (54 x 168) .
I had a Sector 54 V3 and that board was 54 x 172 I don't remember the board say the volume
But for me the 54 V3 had pretty much volume than 24.4L and it was a heavy board.
My question to the kiters that had try both versions, the V6 version have a lot less volume and weight than the V3?
Also based on your experience with the V5 version
The V6 board ride faster or slower than the V3? The V3 have better low end or the low end is similar on the V6 version.
Thanks for your help.
