I tried some standing relaunching today with a C1 17m with Greg's bridle mod.
I had no wind meter but I guess it was varying between 5 and 10 mph. Usually there was enough when the kite was ready to leave the water that it took off.

I did find that when there wasn't enough wind to push the water off the top of the canopy over the middle of the LE (even when walking toward it), I could pull on one rear line and get one side of the kite to lift the LE slightly off the water. I kept it off the water as it made its way round to roughly where it usually takes off from and then was able to get the canopy to lift that end of the kite up towards the take-off position. The kite was twisted a lot at this point with a pool of water pinning the other end down, but by keeping the high side as high as possible without falling over, eventually it spilled all the water off and took the relaunch position.

I think there was probably some small amount of water behind the leading edge because I quite often flipped it over from lying on its back before starting the relaunch attempts. I think this may be the solution for that. By getting one end to just lift slightly off the water and keep it there, the water moves to the other side down the slight slope. The kite then makes its way to roughly the take-off point and at that stage, its possible to get more lift on that end of the kite, although its a very delicate balance to avoid it falling over while still staying as high as possible. This all takes several minutes.

I was always able to get it into the air and then eventually from standing in the cold water, I felt a calf muscle starting to pull on one launch so called it a day. I had intended to shovel a lot of water behind the LE before I first drift launched it but the wind felt so light at the time I wasn't sure the kite would launch when dry.

Since this thread is about Clouds, I thought you all might want to see some videos I've made while riding them. Mostly with a foil, but not all:

5m Cloud foiling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55ZiKDQ_Rrc
7m Cloud foiling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0xDjCeozrA
9m Cloud foiling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_ClXE5j2Vw
12m Cloud foiling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNtHp2yDQyc

Just sharing the stoke. I love my Clouds, and my foil. Of course, they work great with regular water-pusher boards as well :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hasJIqhdMOQ

There is also a thread here I started about foiling with the Clouds:

You might be Stoked, but you'd be surprised when you try the Chrono Foiling silent combo,
without all that limited range and on and off power
