I came across two Sectors for sale that I'm interested in.
V1.5 52 and a V3 54.
Heard that the older v1's are more plug and play and less technical to ride than the v3 and 4's...More fun?
You're thoughts?
I only tried a V1 60. Liked it but leaning toward the smaller Sector for greater range in the top end - I weigh 71 kg / 158 lbs.
Thanks for the feedback!

stay away from version1...they had prioblems with the finboxes
but was the most plug and play, version 2 and 3 are good...version4 is too racy especially fir the 60 wide version...version 2 and 3....or version 5 which is more funride but only has 3fins
version v2 4 fins ( always smaller and more curved than in the 60 wide versions) v3 l assume you have a choise inbetween 3 or 4 fins...but not sure if thisnwas with the 54 wide.
hope this helps a big
cheers

Thanks for recommendation dude!
Fin issues v1. Wasn't this solved with the 1.5?
So the v3 isn't the same as the V4? Someone said they were.
The 4 doesn't seem loved as the earlier ones.

yeah you could be right..l had v1...finbox issues and heard a lot more of them
l got a v1.5. only difference a full deckpad no finbox issues
I had the V2. a perfect cruiser
after v2 l skipped V3...and got me a v4...too racy, hard on the legs...not the easy plug and play cruiser znymore, very trimsensible( weight and footplacement etc, fast in planning in lightwind but only on 4fins...3fin setup was not for lightwind and in highwind too nervous)
all boards were 60 wide!
54 is for non racers much more fun!
cheers
dude

My Favourite was the V2 52. Just a great board for blasting around!

Got a v4 54 and in 3 carving fin config this board is a blast... i weigh 160 pounds and it is a great lw machine and the nice thing is that even if the wind really picks up you can still ride it. I can ride it in 20 + knots with a small board.
In lw with a gts3 15 lw i can keep up with guys riding speed 3 and 4 21m with their big tt.

I bought Bigwave's V2 and used that for a season and it was great. I sold it and upgraded to a V5 60 and it was even better! have tried the V3 and the V5 is still top in my books.

So your saying the 60 v4 was too racy, but the 54 v4 is just fine, like the older versions?
Some thoughts...The Sector models after the v1 series had less cant on the fins, if I remember correctly 10 degrees vs 15 for the v1's 1.5's.
Perhaps this contributes to the v1's more user friendly character?
If so, using the 15 degree fins may make change the v4's (make it more plug and play) unless there's other design differences - rocker, etc, that have a greater effect.
