One strut kite spotted in Provo .... Liquid Force Solo...

Postby Laughingman » Wed Dec 04, 2013 2:25 pm

Does anyone know where to find information on a one strut kite called "Solo"? I think it is made by liquid force but my cursory search turned up nada.

Our neighbors here in Turks have been (what seems to be) testing these kites all week in extremely light winds, I mean like 2 - 4 knots beach flying.... Pretty impressive

Do you live in TCI? That is one of my favorite kiting getaways. Some of the most scenic kiting I have ever done. My next kite trip there is going to be middle Caicos. I found some spots there that go on forever.

Back on topic...haven't heard anything about the LF Solo.

No we are just on vacation. It is beautiful that is for sure. Having a great time.

It is definitely a liquid force btw. They seem to be adjusting the bridal... Then flying, then adjusting etc...I'll post some pics later.

I feel like I remember reading a comment from one of the big dogs at LF saying they had a one-strut kite (or maybe it was a no-strut?) but was not ready for the market yet. I think it was about 2 or 3 months ago right when the 2014 line was launching.

I saw a few LF proto being tested in Montreal in the fall, included this one.
Some had "half-struts". The first half of the strut linked to the leading edge was inflated. The second half of the strut toward the trailing edge was a batten. Interesting concept!
