What sport did you do prior to kiting and what drew you in?

What main sport did you do prior to kitingsurfing ? why did kitingsurfing draw you in.

A) I surfed, I want the kite to tow me into waves and continue the surf feel when its windy

B) I windsurfed and kiting is an extension to my existing wind addiction

C) I wakeboard and want to add the kite to complement the boat and cable.

D) I do extreme/adrenaline sports and kiting fits right in there to get my buzz.

E) I went to the beach, Watched a guy boost to the moon and said "I need to get me a piece of that action!".

F) I snowboard/ski and wanted to snowkite to extend my snowboarding/skiing

G) Something else I haven't thought of.

I Came from paragliding background. Never did board sports before.

Was flying stunt kites and traction kites as a hobby but previously lived in boulder co and was into snowboarding.

I am a Hang Glider pilot. So when the weather is too windy it means it is "blown" to go flying, but now i will be able to do something else (kitesurf). It is a way to seal the gap for me i can do either one of the 2 options, plus living 3 blocks away from the beach, makes sense to start using it for something

A, Surf, got tired of getting out of work and being blown out by afternoon sea breezes and watching a couple guys blasting around having, this was about 2005. Ran into one of those guys at a bar one night and he recruited me for lessons, so glad I took him up on his offer

I was a kid and flew flexifoil stackers on the Oregon coast, being a water skier I could instantly see the that if it could pull me across the sand like that, it could pull me on a ski. Well my parents would not buy me those kites for obvious reasons that are now clear to me, having kids of my own.

I also grew up skiing, skateboarding, snowboarding back when it stated, waterskiing, and then all other adrenaline sports I could try.

Flash forward to 2000 and moved away from the mountains, started surfing, and waiting for good waves is worse than waiting for snow. I saw kitesurfing and it all clicked, it brought me full circle.

I still surf, but the wind blows way more than there are good waves.

By the way I learned with a two line cabrina death kite, put the sport down for a few years after many close calls, and then the mid 2000's came and brought kiting back to the old man.

I love this sport, it is like a flick of the wrist on a old 70's two stroke if you like, or a nice comfy ride in a Cadillac. So diverse, ride the flat water maching and boosting, waves nice and slow looking for a good swell, or a combo.

I was looking at ways to lower my wind minimum and realized that kiting was the answer.

Sailing since being "knee high to a grasshopper." Always attracted to things that would propel me on land and water without the use of an engine.
