I noticed a section of my bridle was quite frayed after my last session. Kite is 2013, 18 months old and had about 25 sessions on it. This is the first time I've had any sort of wear on a bridle. I usually replace each kite size every three years so this one is only half way through its expected life with me.
Question is do I do I replace the entire bridle because of stretching or just the part that is worn? The rest of the bridle looks good. At what stage or age to bridles usually start to wear?

Holy shit, looks like a squirrel was gnawing on it. I wouldn't be caught dead flying a bridal like that. Looks abnormal to me. Get that replaced ASAP (dont bother with the rest of the bridal). Never had a bridal wear that quick, they usually last for years and only the ones exposed to pulleys wear and it takes months to fray..

Ideally bridal wear is only meant to be used once. It can be very expensive if you do require a replacement.

Only replace the worn section bridles last for years except for the parts that rub against a pulley those wear out in a hundred or two sessions

I would replace only the worn part also and check that the pulley is turning freely and not jammed up with sand and/or corrosion. That is probably the source of the wear.
