We've rent a house in from of viana do castelo...we'll arrive on saturday.

Windguru forecast is south-west low wind with rain for several days...what sort of condition should I really expect on the spot at these day ?

I only know this spot on nord-west winds...which rocks !

The bad new is that when its SW that's pretty much what you will get.
Damp, rain and if it says not much wind , not much .
If the forecast shows sunny and NW/N then generally in season you will get 30 kts +
there is a weather station and webcam on the viana locals website.

Today for example the forecast NW 6-8 kts . On the beach now 23kts

yes...french guys ... ...

It works just fine on a SW, sometimes with SW you get waves too but the SW wind is usually frontal and the thermal wind doesn't fire up. The forcasts like windguru etc are usually right with the SW strength , as mention when its NW they always get it wrong as they don't factor the thermal wind in.
The thermal effect is very very local and sometimes only the North half of the beach has wind , crazy !
usually the thermal wind can be used to set your watch ! Nothing early , go for a surf. By 11 something is happening and by one pm, nuking !
