norcom...
txs...i understand and you are correct. i will need to test different options but off the top, the easiest would be to connect a second "kiteleash/line" to your tethered location/mechanism and the flagging line. However, this method would have you "at risk" for that moment when you undo the tethered "kiteleash" and replace with the one attached to your harness.

So, the situation is that you can demo the 2015 kites but you aren't allowed to see any info online. Sure seems reasonable. Is this a kite company or the military?

Seems some people get really mad when they can't preview the new kites and boards. I get it that everyone wants to see what is new. Cabrinha does it to protect dealers. Kite shops that have 2014 kites in inventory don't want customers to stop buying 2014 gear because they saw 2015 gear coming. Cabrinha and kite companies are not unique in this.

Just about every company goes to great lengths to prevent the general public from seeing the upcoming products. Photographers and marketing companies that work with the brands have to agree not to leak any info or pictures etc. Think about car companies. Photographers stake out testing grounds like paparazzi to get shots of new cars (think the new Corvette), cars are often clad in fake exteriors when out in the public. Of course there are exceptions. Think about Apple computers. How hard is it to get accurate info on the new iPhone 3-6 months before it comes out? Pretty hard. There are usually rumors and even fake/misleading information circulating.

Cabrinha will lift the information/photography embargo with about a month to go before the kites are in stores. At that time, they typically will allow dealers to discount previous year inventory. That is very similar to what other industries do.

Interesting. Our local shop already has the 2014 Cabs on discount. Does this mean a 2015 Cab release any day??

If they are so concerned about hiding the new kites, then why introduce them to the dealer channel on June 1st? When they planned their marketing year, someone had to ask "isn't June 1 kinda early?", to which some higher up said "nah, let's do it early and get some buzz going". So transparent.

I don't try very hard, and I've come across quite a few pics and even video (!) of the new kites and bar. They feign wanting to keep it quiet, but they don't really.

They want buzz created - and this post (and thread) is buzz. You're welcome Cabrinha.

to Southflorida: the answer is so that dealers can put in their pre-orders so they know how many of each model to produce. Same as in every other retail industry I've been involved in. 3 months is half of what it used to be in retail. Production times have been shortened.

Shawn13: your shop is "breaking the rules". Cabrinha has been on tear lately enforcing MSRP pricing in advertisements. I'm not sure what they can do about in store though. It's not illegal, but they don't have to sell the retailer product either. They just cut the store off.

Cab finally concedes the IDS was a piece of over-engineered garbage with this new quick loop....

Guys, just keep the pictures for you for a while...it's just causing trouble.
They don't want it to be released yet.
Be a bit more patient than you can post it all.

Thx guys

I'm not sure what more we could improve on the lightwind kites. The Velocity 18 is the benchmark kite for lightwind. Nothing can touch the low end. The Contra has received only rave reviews for it's turning speed, easy relaunch, light bar, etc. Contra is a "fun" lightwind kite, while Velocity is the mac daddy of power. Plus Switchblade is by far the best overall wind range with great low end and the fastest turning edition we have ever made.
Not sure???....hm, maybe they could make a lightwind kite with no struts, and call it Genesis...
