what a find...betcha they lock down those files soon...unless it is a planned leak

They did away with the 'impossible to re-assemble in deep water' quick release, and the bar floats again.
They are listening...

Sweet! I never had an issue with the quick release since the kites depower so much - only had to pull it a few times near shore while self-landing. Glad they made the bar more buoyant again too.

What kind of style is the Radar aimed at?

Looks like they are going pretty standard with the industry in the quickrelease department.
Colours dont look as good as 2013s (my personal fav) But i like the orange one this year.
Also glad they did away with the white on the contra line. too hard to keep clean.

*Note* These comments were directed to the 2015 photos posted above by someone which have since been taken down :-?

I'm not thrilled about the new QR design. Sure, the last few years are a bit hard to reassemble but they're the only QR that you can release to the flag out line while still keeping the kite anchored when self launching.

not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but with the new system, you will still be tethered to the kite when the QR is activated....your short kite leash is attached directtly to the flagging line

With the previous years models you don't have to be tethered to the kite. You can have the kite anchored on the chicken loop and pull the quick release. The kite will flag out attached to the anchor. The reason it's possible is because the chicken loop doesn't open.

I don't have a problem launching kites that release by opening a chicken loop. I'm just saying that the previous models were a bit safer for self launching IN CASE I needed to flag out as I walked back to the anchor and something went wrong. Otherwise if I release the loop the kite flies away unless I already had a chance to attach the leash to the kite.
