Rode Park, Torch and Ride

Park is a very nice kite but I found it twitchy in waveriding especially in its lowend.
Ride is a park and ride feel good kite which is more than enough for the vast majority of kiters, easy and forgiving. The Torch, ah, the Torch, great kite! Fast, responsive, precise, great handling, rode C kites and it made me longing for them again if it wasn't for the somwhat limited range compared to kites like the Park...

So, waiting for the Pivot to make me happy going back to Naish again since my Raven 1-2-3 period...

And, you have an idea of wind rage for the 10 m and the 7m, for example ?

I just bought the 14m and 12m pivots I love em ! Only 14m kite I've ever owned that actually drifts. Goes up wind really good too. Rode the 14m yesterday in 14-16mph and then it picked up to15-16.5mph and I pumped up the 12m. They both turn really fast for their sizes.

Recently bought a 9 Pivot, and do not miss my 8 and 10 Rides. Jumps and floats great. Bar pressure at least as light if not lighter, even on middle setting of steering lines. Really fun kite !
Try one Alex………Ron

I will for sure. I have ridden the 10 and 14 so far :-)
Today was pretty good with biggish waves and nuking winds.

We just got our Pivots in the UK. Some nice wind in the last couple of days so I put a 10m on demo. In the sky the kite feels quicker than the Ride, it's very agile in the turns and flies forward keeping it's speed out of turns really well. The power stays very constant in the turn, which is very nice strapless, it doesn't pull in the turn like a 2014 park will. Running towards the kite at speed out of a kite loop or a turn on the chop it drifts back and picks up the line tension with no drama. Actually for kite loops the smooth pull and forward flying work a treat and the pivot would be good for intermediates looking to gain confidence, without getting too much of a yank in the loop.

Upwind seems good, I think a tad better than park or ride, not so powerful at the edge of the window as the Draft though, but waaaay easier to live with strapless! Boosting on a twin tip is also very good, but hang time is less than Draft as you would expect. For a 'wave' kite the pivot is actually a very competent all rounder!

From a shop point of view, based on my demo experience of park, ride, draft, pivot, I would expect to sell more pivots than any other model of Naish kite.... I've not tested the light wind relaunch, but I think most guys on the Ride will find the pivot easy enough and with better all round performance. Kiters using the park and not unhooking would probably get more out of the pivot as well. Just my initial thoughts on it. I guess time will tell.

I suspect the design of the new Pivot does not favor unhooking but, for those who tried, is unhooking any good with the Pivot?
I guess it will depend on where the kite sits at the edge of the wind window...
Would it be comparable to unhooking with, say, the North Evo or the Airush Lithium, or better?

Unreal. :o  :thumb:
