Hey guys,
this is how the 2014 Rad boots look after less than 30 sessions.

For a high prized Binding like this i thought it would last longer....That was definitley my last Product from Slingshot!!

Hi have the Shredtown and I had problems too:
lace locks broke on the very first session.
bottom liner problems after 10 sessions.

I tried to contact SS but they just send me to the sellers for spare locks.

I have to say that if they are not going to last more than one year these toys are way too expensive.
Nothing similar happens with straps... Furthermore if one buy good shoes 400+ them are going to last forever.

All boots don't last that long. They are made to be light with synthetic materials that just don't compare to real leather for durability. Best thing to do is see if you can get a warranty on them SS is pretty good about them.

If you ride a lot they will break down faster. Most people only ride 1-2 times a week. 30 sessions is more than a year to most people. I know this because I eat thru boots as I use them for kiting and cable. And I think kite is harder on them as you get pulled after a crash unlike cable where it's a big painful splash and a stop.

Leather? maybe not for a water boot! Closed toe and super light break down pretty quick for the price tags. Some of the mid range boots seem a little tougher built. Gotta find a pair that rides the line between sweet fit and durability. My Ones broke down within a year, it was mostly ankle crush/stiching and lace locks, eventually the lining went, but I rode em trashed for another couple years before getting a cheaper but seemingly tougher pair.

I'm not saying we need leather just it is more durable. I switched to Systems hoping they would hold better since you put them on and leave them on. No use they are falling apart. I guess I just ride too much.

My 2011 Rads didn't last 5 minutes, switched to LF vantages and they seem much tougher although the liners are f***** after 10 sessions. Best I ever had were brunotti's, I forget the name but were really simple with ratchet style straps and were solid, got bout 4 years out of em n they're still not dead!

The only boots I've not had fall apart are my ronix franks. I've had Ones, SS Rads, and systems to name a few. My systems were warranted thank hyperlite.

Wake boarders don't nearly spend as much time riding as we do. A 3 hour session is like what to them- 1 hr of water time?

I should have been clearer in my post. What fell apart for me was not the system bindings, but the boots (process). They began tearing at sticking seams much like the RADs pictured here, but I am pretty sure it is 100% cosmetic on the hyperlite boots. These boots look like they have an inner beefy lining that does all the magic and just have a facade that ended up tearing.
I have only had 5 sessions on my 14 systems so I can't comment on them yet. I will say that it doesn't look like they changed anything so I have no reason to believe they fixed the problem.

The bindings are pretty bomber, despite looking and feeling like flimsy plastic they resist some serious abuse.

Cheers, I've tried out the systems there pretty good, I've heared people say they last a lot longer as the stress is taken out on the plastic binding
