I've never been Kiteboarding before and Id like to get some lessons with someone before I buy all the equipment. I live in the Durham region (Oshawa). If anyone is willing to steer me in the right direction please let me know. Thank you.

The best spot to learn for a beginner would be North Oliphant just north of Sauble. Id say plan it out and take a few lessons over one day there. You can contact Dan at kiterider.ca
You can also try
