Thought I replied.....maybe I forgot to hit the submit button last night.
Long story short...early planing fairly close for doors and the Paipo.
Dynamic, fun, waves.....Paipo way fun in flat, waves, high wind, low wind.
An easy decision for me.

Why not get the BRM paipo? Not only does it look great it is super solidly built.
Exception of the cosmetic, they are identical I believe. The Shinnster is like a snowboard in term of construction just like the BRM Paipo, very solid. I think it is more about the availability of one or the other depending on where he live.

At one point the BRM website said you could only get the Paipo in Hawaii. Looks like they are on the order form, but the shipping section only talks about shipping of kites. Can you get the Paipo anywhere now? I assumed the limited production of the Paipo was why they were teaming with Shinn?

And my understanding...in addition that $30 domestic.....one can get the BRM Paipo internationally for $100. I would just email Boardriding Maui or put in that order on the order page of the BRM website and he will get back with you quickly about shipping and total cost I am sure...before you put in any payment stuff....wherever you live...Brazil, Perth, Canada or Europe. BRM (Greg Drexler) is great to deal with. The original Boardriding Maui Paipo does look so cool and unique....pure and simple...no extra or unnecessary ornamentation....like the Hawaiian paipo boards that apparently inspired it.
