Shinn shinnster Review
What a giggle this board is, I was at first glance of this board a bit worried it might be hard to get up on and ride but I was seriously wrong, I think due to it’s sharp rails and long wide profile it was a doddle to get up on, even for a average rider on a directional like me. `The conditions were light and the water flat, as 100kg rider and the wind only 13 knots and all I had was my trusty 12m F-one bandit I was a bit concerned there would not be enough wind to get me going.
I was ripping, up and gone and so easy to ride, the flex in the board made it easy to carve, it stomped up wind. If there was a down point it was for me a little harder to gybe in such light conditions. Off the plane and with only a tiny amount of board speed whilst swapping feet I came off a few times more than normal. I lent the board out to a few friends and everyone came back with big smiles. The water was flat and with such a light breeze everyone was just trying to stay up wind and do very little else, on the shinnster everyone was trying to carve it, ride it backwards, Ollie it out of the water, up wind was easy just great fun.
As Tim my friend said, that board is brilliant if your bored riding a twin tip, there are no waves for a wave board, and you want to still get wet, it is just great FUN!!!
