trip to Sri Lanka

Postby flying scotsman » Wed Aug 05, 2015 2:21 pm

Hi there.

We're off on a holiday to Sri Lanka in December. It's with g adventures and is a tour starting and finishing in Colombo and going through central, southern and south western areas. Most of the kite schools seem to be just north of Colombo?

Can anyone advise if there is kite surfing available further south and West? We will be spending time at Galle and Hikkaduwa Beach.

Thanks!

Most people learn at Kalpitiya or Adam's Bridge respectively 3 hours and 4 hours north of Colombo. However, you can kite in Negombo near the airport as regards further south - no clue. However, the guys based in Sri Lanka will know. You best route to the definitive answer is to post in the 'kitesurfing Sri lanka' Facebook group or reach out to Marc at the Pearl hotel in Negombo. Those guys will be able to point you in the right direction.
