I like Zeeko design.
But you're right, kites compagnys should do more artistic design.

The kites with the screen printed or how ever painted designs look to attract more sand where the paint is. The paint feels a bit more tacky than the fabric without it.

I think Jeroen does a great job with the Epic graphics. It is obvious that he sticks with the same theme for the type of kite and builds on it for the next version. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the "beerholder" so it is all subject to individual taste. I like the Zeekos as well.

Have you seen some of the new skis out there...talk about ugly....I was at Snowbird in April and people where skiing on Bananas. Big fat yellow skis with insane amounts of rocker.

In my opinion the 2013 and 14 Switchblades are the best looking...2013 over 2014 though

The simple yet obviously difficult to grasp answer ist: taste.
I for my part like the north design a lot. Especially the 2012 with the orange tube. 2014 the orange one has nice strong colors.
But tribals??? As soon as North adds tribals, I will stop buying kites from them every year. Tribals are for the muscle guys with the big truck, who look so mean but are so soft and keep on discussing their "cross fit"

Lack of art and fantasy can be a good marketing idea IMO. My home spot in a windy spring day: 200 kites in the water, all different colours/patterns. Core kites: all models white/yellow, big "Core" black text. From the beach, you can say "my god, there are at least 10 Core today". You can't say how many North, RRD and so on are in the water. The overall impression is that the most popular kites are the Core. Isn't this good for the brand?

Until you can prove that any such difference is big enough for anyone to care or notice...I am putting it in the nonsense category.
